TANAH JAMBU, Friday 20 January 2023 - A Leadership Talk was delivered by Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). The session was held at the Lecture Hall of the Officer Cadet School Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF). Present as audience was the Commanding Officer of OCS DA, Officers and the Officer Cadets of Intake 21.
The talk highlighted on VASTS (Values, Ability, Style, Traits and Skills) which principles and attributes that are needed to become a competent military officer. The Commander of RBAF also shared his insights on how a leader needs to have their values aligned, equipped with the ability to lead with their own leadership style as long as it is positive leadership. He also emphasized to practice JATI (Jujur, Amanah, Tanggungjawab and Integrity) as a trait along with enhancing skills on communication and analytical aspects as it is important for a leader to make wise decisions.
Towards the end of the talk, the Commander of RBAF shared his advice to the Officer Cadets of Intake 21 to always have humility, respect each other, be resilient to challenges and preserve dignity. The talk then concluded with a question-and-answer session and recitation of Doa.
