TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 07 January 2022 - The
Opening Ceremony of the Intermediate Staff Course 21/2022 (ISC 21/2022)
was held today at the Auditorium of the Defence Academy Royal Brunei
Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Kampung Tanah Jambu. Present to officiate the
opening ceremony was the Guest of Honour, Colonel Pengiran Sharifuddin
bin Pengiran Haji Yusof, Commandant of DA RBAF.
The
opening ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and
verses of Surah Luqman led by the course participant, Lieutenant Mohd
Haziq @ Ahmad bin Mohd Ali, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), and followed by the
Guest of Honour’s opening remarks.
In
his remarks, he stated that as the nation adapts to the pandemic
protocols, the course continues to maintain its aim to develop
participants' analytical thinking skills, whilst exchanging ideas and
perspectives through joint exchange. Apart from that, the course will
introduce participants to a paradigm shift to the next military
leadership evolution, from tactical to operational, that will demand new
ways of thinking, tackling and solving problems. By the end of his
remarks, he also reminded that one should not be complacent with the
declining number of COVID-19 cases in Brunei and urged everyone to
maintain social responsibilities where appropriate.
ISC
21/2022 is a 13-week course conducted by the Leadership and Management
Centre (LMC), with the objective to prepare officers at the rank of
Captain / Lieutenant, RBN to undertake staff responsibilities in single
service and joint environment. ISC is a mandatory career course for RBAF
officers holding the rank of Captain / Lieutenant, RBN prior to being
promoted to Major / Lieutenant Commander.
Total
attendees for ISC 21/2022 are 33 officers, comprising of 16 officers
from Royal Brunei Land Force, 7 officers from Royal Brunei Navy, 9
officers from Royal Brunei Air Force and one officer from the Royal
Brunei Police Force.
