TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 14 January 2022 – In conjunction with the Sovereign's Parade of Intake 20 Officer Cadet School (OCS), the Newly Commissioned Officers hosted a Regimental Graduation Dinner at the Ceremonial Hall, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) according to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Hj Awg Halbi bin Hj Md Yussof, Second Minister of Defence. Also present were Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah Bin Haji Sahat, the Commander of the RBAF, Services Commanders, Joint Force Commander, Senior Officers, Officers and Newly Commissioned Officers.
The Second Minister of Defence was welcomed by the Newly Commissioned Officers of Intake 20 and the respective guests before proceeding with the dinner and a symphonic diversion by the RBAF band.
As part of the Graduation Dinner tradition, a speech was conveyed by 1481 Lieutenant Ak Mohd Qamarussalihin bin Pg Mohd Saifuddin, the Sword of Honour recipient. In his speech, he reminisced through the hardships experienced but reminded that resilience remains the key to success. The importance of Taqwa is also emphasized as it undoubtedly helps improve spirituality of oneself towards becoming a better person and subsequently a quality leader.
Towards the end of the event, both the Second Minister of Defence and the Commander of the RBAF were invited to conduct the RBAF band followed by the signing of parchment by the Guest of Honour. The event was then concluded with a group photograph session.
