TANAH JAMBU, 14 FEBRUARY - His Excellency Major General Zhang Bao Qun, Deputy Director of the Office for International Military Cooperation of the Central Military Commission (OIMC CMC) made an official visit to the Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF).
Upon arrival, Major General Zhang Bao Qun and delegation were welcomed by Colonel Pg Sharifuddin bin Pg Hj Yusof, Commandant of DA RBAF and senior officers. Also present was Datin Ampuan Yura Kasumawati binti Dato Paduka. Hj Mohd Adnan, the Acting Director of Defence Policy, Ministry of Defence.
The visit started with a camp orientation brief of the training establishment available at DA RBAF. The visit then continued with a brief presentation of DA RBAF training and academic programs offered by Officer Cadet School, Leadership & Management Center and Command and Staff College delivered by Lieutenant Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, Deputy Commandant of DA RBAF. A representative from the visiting delegation also briefed on the current ties between DA RBAF and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
His Excellency Major General Zhang Bao Qun and delegation are currently in the country for the first Joint Defence Working Committee (JDWC) meeting between Negara Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Republic of China. The Office for International Military Cooperation is mainly responsible for foreign military exchange and cooperation, other than that OIMC also manages and coordinate foreign affairs work for the whole military.
