TANAH JAMBU, Monday 13 October 2025 – The Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF), held a Handover Ceremony between Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Haji Muhammad Yusri bin Pengiran Haji Sharifuddin, the outgoing Commanding Officer, and Lieutenant Colonel Faizal Azly bin Haji Rosli, the incoming Commanding Officer. The ceremony took place at the Lecture Theatre, OCS DA RBAF.
The ceremony commenced with a photo session, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah. In his farewell address, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Haji Muhammad Yusri bin Pengiran Haji Sharifuddin expressed his sincere appreciation to all officers, instructors, and staff of OCS DA RBAF for their dedication, professionalism, and unwavering support throughout his tenure. As the RBAF continues to train future officers, he highlighted that incorporating the Emotional Quotient (EQ) into leadership development is vital to nurturing leaders who embody empathy, integrity, and a strong understanding of their people.
The event proceeded with the signing of the handing over certificate between Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Haji Muhammad Yusri bin Pengiran Haji Sharifuddin and Lieutenant Colonel Faizal Azly bin Haji Rosli thus marking the official transfer of leadership and command of OCS DA RBAF. Present during the ceremony were officers, the Acting School Sergeant Major, and staff of the school.
As the newly appointed Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Faizal Azly bin Haji Rosli delivered his inaugural speech as the 8th Commanding Officer of OCS DA RBAF.
He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to his predecessor for his exemplary leadership and invaluable contributions to OCS DA RBAF. He acknowledged that the achievements made under the former Commanding Officer’s tenure reflect his dedication and vision. Committed to continuing his legacy, the new Commanding Officer pledged to build upon the strong foundation laid and to advance the mission of shaping the next generation of leaders for the RBAF.
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of doa, followed by a light refreshment with all the officers and staff that were present.
