Bolkiah Garrison, Friday, 31 October 2025 — With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, Commandant of the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), was promoted to Substantive Colonel today.
The Rank Insignia Presentation Ceremony was presented by Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of RBAF, that took place at the Officer’s Mess at Bolkiah Garrison. During the ceremony, a total of 19 senior officers were promoted, where 7 officers were promoted from Lieutenant Colonel to the rank of Colonel and 12 officers were promoted from Acting Lieutenant Colonel to the rank of Substantive Lieutenant Colonel.
Also present were the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, members of the RBAF Executive Committee, senior officers of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF, invited guests, and family members. The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat recited by Major Narulismandy @ Anwar Hadi bin Haji Samaihhe from the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT).
