TANAH JAMBU, DEFENCE ACADEMY, Monday, 15 November 2021 – Leadership and Management Centre, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (LMC DA RBAF) held its first Online Research Essay Writing Skills Workshop today. The workshop will be conducted for 4 days from 15 to 18 November 2021. The main purpose of this workshop is to equip the course participants of the upcoming Intermediate Staff Course 21/2022 with adequate preparation prior to the course at the beginning of next year. At the same time, this workshop also aims to develop the level of knowledge and skills for young RBAF officers particularly in essay writing with an emphasis of research and critical thinking.
The first day of workshop was attended virtually by 75 RBAF Officers from different units. The day started off with an Introduction to Essay Writing by Lieutenant Commander Khairul Anuar bin Abdullah, Directing Staff 2 LMC DA RBAF, and followed by a lesson on Critical Thinking by Major Lizawati binti Haji Suhaili, Academic Advisor DA RBAF. Subsequently, a question-and-answer session was held which gave an opportunity for the participants to field questions and discuss further with the speakers about the lessons.
The next three days will focus more on essay writing topics such as Research Skills, Writing an Introduction, Paragraph Construction, Paraphrasing and many more.
