TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 9 December 2022 - The Intermediate Staff Course 22/2022 (ISC 22/2022), Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) held a Graduation Dinner at Ceremonial Hall, DA RBAF Kampong Tanah Jambu. Present as the guest of honour was Colonel Pengiran Sharifuddin bin Pengiran Haji Yusof, Commandant of DA RBAF.
The ceremony started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa by Captain Mohammad Iqbal Arqam bin Abdul Rahman followed by dinner. The ceremony continued with speeches from representatives of ISC 22/2022 and the Commandant of DA RBAF. In his speech, the Commandant mentioned that the importance and art of imparting knowledge is a life-learning process, as education plays a paramount role in every person’s life. In addition, this course helps build character, opinions, and intellect in helping to shape a leader to make a decision and develop interpersonal skills as a commanding officer, staff officer or instructor that help the commander make decisions and develop RBAF.
The ceremony was followed by the exchange of mementoes and a speech by Captai Isaac Chia Je Le from Singapore Armed Forces as a representative of the international officers and Royal Brunei Police Force officers, who shared some insights throughout the course, learning about Brunei Darussalam’s culture and heritage, as well as expressing appreciation for administrative support given throughout the course. Also in the ceremony, the inaugural ISC Commendation Award was presented by the Commandant of DA RBAF in recognition of the highest commitment to the course in the fields of both military and academic endeavour, embodying the highest form of intellectual pursuit and going beyond the self by offering a helping hand to other course participants.. This special award was presented to Captain (U) Mohammad Aliff bin Haji Zulkifli.
This ceremony aims to foster social integration between the ISC 22/2022 Course Participants and the Leadership and Management Centre (LMC), DA RBAF Officers and staff while commemorating the successful completion of the course. This ceremony serves as an appreciation to LMC for their selflessness and endless support in ensuring that the course was conducted as efficiently as possible. It also serves to value the relationships and memories developed over the past 14 weeks as a cohort and farewell celebration for ISC 22/2022 before course participants, especially overseas officers, return to their home countries, report to their respective units, and embark on their new journey.
