TANAH JAMBU, Wednesday, 25 January 2023 – The Command and Staff Course (CSC) 13/2023 celebrates the Australia Day today at TANAH JAMBU, Wednesday, 25 January 2023 – The Command and Staff Course (CSC) 13/2023 celebrates the Australia Day today at Command and Staff College Lecture Room, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF).
The Australian National Anthem was played followed by sharing from the Australia CSC Course Participant, Lieutenant Commander Gordon Trevor Hay, on the significance of Australia Day.
Australia Day is the official national day of Commonwealth of Australia. Observed annually on 26th January, it marks the 1788 landing of the First Fleet at Sydney Cove and raising of the Union Flag by Arthur Phillip following days of exploration of Port Jackson in New South Wales. In present-day Australia, celebrations aim to reflect the diverse society and landscape of the nation and are marked by community and family events, reflections on Australian history, official community awards and citizenship ceremonies welcoming new members to the Australian community.
On Australia Day, all Australians reflect on the past, present and future. They listen and respect each other’s stories, contributions and aspirations. They celebrate being Australian together, fair and free.
Command and Staff College celebrates all the countries National Day represented in the course. This will further promote mutual understanding of the diverse cultures between the course participants.
