

TANAH JAMBU, Tuesday, 20th February 2024 – The Main Planning Conference (MPC) for the 2nd South East Asia Conference of Commandants was held yesterday led this year’s Co-Chairmen, Colonel Pengiran Sharifuddin bin Pengiran Haji Yusof, Commandant DA RBAF and Maj Gen Andrew Row, Commandant Defence Academy of the United Kingdom.
The MPC brings together the planning teams from both academies to discuss and finalize details of this year’s conference that will be a meeting of the minds consisting of delegations from 11 esteemed Military Academies from the South East Asian region and beyond.
This year’s conference will build on last year’s theme of “Professional Military Education in the 21st Century” and will see the Commandants from the participating countries presenting the challenges and solutions unique to their academies in delivering military education. Deep dives into the topics of Digitalisation, Talent Management and Critical Challenge: Developing Curriculum will be led by Subject Matter Experts from the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, The University of Brunei Darussalam and The Australian War College respectively. The successful conclusion of the MPC marks the start of the countdown to a fruitful conference.
