BOLKIAH GARRISON, Friday 10 March 2017 - With the consent of His Majesty the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), the Royal Brunei Armed Forces announced that 18 officers have been consented to be promoted.
The promotion ceremony took place this morning at the Bolkiah Garrison Officers’ Mess. Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of the RBAF.
Among 18 officers promoted today inclusive of DA RABF very own Commandant, 308 Lieutenant Colonel Saiful Akhmar bin Mohd Shariff promoted to Colonel, as well as Deputy Commandant of DA RBAF, Lieutenant Colonel Suriyati binti Haji Junaidi and Chief Instructor of DA RABF, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pg Hj Mohd Hasreen bin Pg Hj Ali Hassan who were promoted to Substantive Lieutenant Colonel. Also present at the ceremony were Services Commanders, Directors, Commandants, senior officers and officers of Ministry of Defence and RBAF as well as family members of the promoted officers.
Other than having this promotion ceremony as part of an on-going effort to recognise, reward and groom the RBAF officers, it also underpins the RBAF strategic objectives towards enhancement of condition of service and morale of the officers as well as proper career management and opportunities in order to perform well and demonstrate potentials in contributing their service to the RBAF.
