TANAH JAMBU, Monday 28 May 2018 – Mr. Anirvan Ghosh Dastidar, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Brunei, today delivered a talk on Strategic Management and Leadership to the 8th Command and Staff Course (CSC) at the Defence Academy of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

In his talk, Mr. Dastidar briefly shared the 150 years history of SCB and the glorious achievements and recognitions it has received throughout its service. SCB has been present in Brunei for 60 years since it was established in the country in April 1958.

He also highlighted the importance of networking and geopolitics in the banking business and shared his views on the importance of economic diversification for Brunei and how SCB can play an important role in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The talk ended with a Q&A session which includes discussions on SCB resilience and sustainability in Brunei and also the challenges in dealing with cyber crime.

Mr. Dastidar has been the CEO of SCB in Brunei since 01 October 2016. He previously held the appointments as the CEO of SCB in the Philippines and also in Sri Lanka and has been in the banking career for more than 20 years.
