Tanah Jambu, Saturday, 20 April 2019 – Nisfu Sya’ban is a religious occasion which is annually celebrated in the middle of the month of Syaaban. It is embraced by Muslims by amplifying Zikir and performing religious practices as much as they can on the said evening in order to gain endless blessings and countless rewards from Allah SWT. Muslims are highly encouraged to enliven this religious occasion and the Defence Academy is no exception. This evening, the Defence Academy of Royal Brunei Armed Forces held the Nisfu Sya’ban celebration at the Asy Syuhada Surau.The event was attended by the Commandant of Defence Academy, Colonel Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan as the Guest of Honour. Also present at the event were commanding officer of OCS, Lieutenant Colonel Haji Amirul Adly bin Haji Ali, senior officers, officers, instructors, staff and the officer cadets of Intake 18.
The event started with the recitation of verses from the Al-Quran by 53249 OCdt Mohammad Zulfitri bin Haji Zoferi. The function then proceeded with the mass Maghrib prayer at the surau. The evening was then further glorified by the recitation of Surah Yassin which was done three times after the Maghrib prayer followed by the special Nisfu Sya’ban doa. The event ended with the mass Isya’ prayer.
