TANAH JAMBU, Thursday 16 May 2019 – Ms Zoe Stanley Lockman, representative from the reputable S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, today delivered a talk on “Advances in Technology: Emerging Trends & Challenges” to the 9th Command and Staff Course (CSC9) at the Defence Academy of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.In her talk, Ms Lockman shared the complexities and unpredictability of Artificial Intelligence. She also highlighted the importance and roles of Artificial Intelligence in our daily life. Lastly, she also highlighted its relevance to the military.
Command and Staff College has always aspired to deliver high quality education by inviting guest lecturers who are subject matter experts in their respective fields. The lecture has added value by bringing students towards a deeper and broader understanding on the subject. Also in attendance were representatives from the Royal Brunei Land Force, Royal Brunei Air Force and Defence Security Branch. The session was concluded with a memento presentation to the guest lecturer by the CSC Directing Staff 3, Commander Daniel Peskett.
Ms Zoe Stanley-Lockman is an Associate Research Fellow in the Maritime Security Programme of the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (IDSS) at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS). Prior to joining the RSIS, she was an analyst and also a research assistant in the European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) looking into matters such as defence-industrial issues, arms exports, innovation, and military capability development.
