TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 16 May 2019
– A second Zuhor lecture on ‘Keluargaku, Harapanku’ and Effective Education In Ramadhan was held on 10th Ramadhan, 1440/ 16th May, 2019. As usual, du’as were cited both in the beginning and after the lecture.  Present were Officers, RBAF members and Officer Cadets.

Based from the lecture, ‘Keluarga’, or family, was defined as relatives, communities, or a group of people which consisted of a husband, a wife, children, grandparents and, so on.  Interestingly, the Imam also mentioned on how to find a suitable partner.

The essential conditions were:
  • To get permission from parents,
  • ‘Nawaitu’ or to do things because of Allah S.A.W.,
Having a family is vital in order to increase the Muslim’s population. Fundamentally, there were several characteristics that a person should look at when choosing a partner. They were the person’s look, wealth, ancestry and, religion. However, religion is the safest and most important thing that a person should focus on when looking for a partner. Apart from that, a non-related male and female should control their friendship in order to avoid any immoral activities from occurring.

Moreover, the Imam also gave advice to strengthen the intimacy between a husband and wife. For instance, a good ‘nawaitu’ to perform Prayers together, to lead and guide a wife in reading Al-Qur’an and so forth. Sadly, there are still cases of divorce. Most of the divorces are due to economic problems where the husbands did not have jobs.

How do we maintain the relationship within a family? There are several things that can be done to maintain the relationship especially during this Ramadhan month. Preserve the family’s dignity, avoid misunderstandings, take the opportunity to do many religious activities and, have ‘iftar’ (breaking the fast) together with the family, this can help in protecting the family from drifting apart.

Overall, each family member plays an important role in maintaining the perseverance of a family. For those who are looking for a partner, it is best to ask permission from their parents so that the relationship will be blessed and to ensure that it is done because of Allah S.A.W.
