TANAH JAMBU, Tuesday, 02 July 2019 – The course participants of the Command and Staff Course 9 visited the Royal Brunei Navy Headquarters and Navy Base today. The visiting delegation was led by Lieutenant Colonel (U) Peter bin Ulat, Directing Staff 1 of Command and Staff College, Defence Academy.The Delegation members were received at the Naval Training Centre where they were briefed by Yang Mulia First Admiral Haji Othman bin Hj Suhaili, Commander Royal Brunei Navy. The Admiral briefed the course members about the contemporary maritime threats and challenges of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN). He also discussed about the present mission, role and capabilities of RBN. More so, the admiral shared his thoughts on future outlook of RBN.
After the briefing, the delegation members visited KDB DARULAMAN, one of the four offshore patrol crafts of RBN. The course participants were briefed on various technical data and capabilities of the vessel. Later on, they visited several important compartments of KDB DARULAMAN including the bridge.
Lastly, the delegation was taken to the Navy Officers’ Mess and offered a sumptuous high tea. All available navy officers were present at the occasion which was graced by the RBN Commander.
The visit was professionally beneficial for the course participants which has provided them a clear understanding of the role and capabilities of RBN.
