TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 15 November 2019 – A total of 5 Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) officers received the OBOE Endeavour Award at the Defence Academy today. The awards was presented by Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the RBAF.

Also present were Her Excellency Nicola Rosenblum, High Commissioner of Australia to Brunei Darussalam, Services Commanders, Commandants, directors and officers from Ministry of Defence and RBAF.

The award recipients were 616 Commander Surainawati binti Haji Abdul Samat, RBN, 484 Major Suzana binti Haji Antin, 651 Major (U) Pengiran Hairol Iskhandar bin Pengiran Ahmad, 685 Major Fakhrul Ammar bin Haji Mohd Isa, and 721 Lieutenant Commander Pengiran Mohd Faren bin Pengiran Mohd Noor, RBN.

The OBOE Endeavour Award is an Academic Excellence Program from the Australian Government that is awarded to RBAF Officers who have graduated with outstanding results during the RBAF Command and Staff Course. These officers will be invited to Australia to meet with key Australian Defence Force leaders, visit an Australian military base, and participate in educational and cultural activities, as well as engage in dialogues and discussions. 

The program which started last year is aimed at imparting knowledge to the RBAF officers about Australia and its Defence Force, share commonalities on the region’s security and interest, as well as to build stronger ties between the armed forces.
