TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 04 June 2020 - Course participants of the Command and Staff Course (CSC) 10/2020 received a talk from Samantha binti Haji Mohd Ali, Executive Officer of Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), highlighting the roles and responsibilities of BEDB. Present during the session was Abdurahman bin Abdul Aziz, the Assistant Chief Executive Officer of BEDB. The sharing session also emphasised on how BEDB has helped formulate an action plan to assist local entrepreneurs during the current COVID19 pandemic.Earlier this week, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) of the Wawasan 2035 Secretariat delivered an online session entitled ‘Introduction of Brunei Vision 2035 or Wawasan Brunei 2035’. The session was led by Aziman bin Nasir, Administrative Officer Special Grade. The talk included the Wawasan 2035 Framework, its processes, the initiative projects that has been established and its on-going progress. The session concluded with the realisation that Wawasan Brunei 2035 is everyone’s responsibility and that a whole-of-government approach is required to achieve those goals.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation, headed by Sheikh Abd Mahdani bin DP Sheikh Abd Ghani, Deputy Director Department of Policy Planning, gave a talk entitled ‘Global Strategic Initiatives From an ASEAN Perspective’. The talk was both informative and enlightening, touching on Brunei’s Foreign Policy objectives and highlighting the importance of ASEAN in providing Brunei Darussalam a platform to contribute to both regional and international issues.
Overall, the sessions held this week, which is part of the CSC 10/2020 program, were highly beneficial and provided good exposure to the CSC 10 course participants as it gave a valuable insight into the various local government ministries and institutions on the roles that they play in helping develop the social, political and economic aspects of Brunei Darussalam.
