Ministry of Defence, Wednesday, 23rd March 2022 – Course participants of the 12th Royal Brunei Armed Forces Command and Staff Course 2022 visited the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) at the Bolkiah Garrison today. The delegation was led by Lieutenant Colonel Mohamad Salehudin bin Dato Paduka Haji Puasa, Senior Directing Staff of Command and Staff College, Defence Academy RBAF.The course participants were received and welcomed at the MINDEF Tower Block by Brigadier General (U) Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin, the Joint Force Commander, Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The delegation was then given an introductory briefing by Lieutenant Colonel (U) Haji Habil bin Adol, Staff Officer Grade 1 Joint Planning (SO1 J5). In his brief, he introduced the concept of joint forces as well as the conduct of joint operations. He later described the challenges faced by JFHQ and how JFHQ intends to overcome the challenges in the future. The briefing was followed by a discussion session with the Joint Force Commander on the challenges faced by the JFHQ in the contemporary operating environment.
The local course participants were then brought to visit the Joint Operations Centre (JOC), whilst the overseas course participants were treated to a visit to the RBAF Museum. The visit concluded with a high tea session at the Bolkiah Officers’ Mess. The visit today has been very beneficial to all the course participants as it gave then an appreciation of how the JFHQ operates in the RBAF context as well as preparation for the operational phase in the third term.
