TANAH JAMBU, 28 May 2018 – The delegation from Nigeria Defence College led by Brigadier General Akinbobola Alexander Ojajune as the Team Leader of the delegation paid a Geo-Startegic World Study Tour to Brunei Darussalam from 19 until 27 May 2018 hosted by the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The visit was intended to provide the course participants an avenue of understanding on Brunei Darussalam based on “National Resources Exploitation and National Development of Brunei Darussalam: Lesson for Nigeria” theme. The delegation comprises a 23-members an officials and senior officers from Nigeria, Chad and Mali.

During the NDC’s study tour to Brunei, the delegation was able to visit several key ministries departments namely, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, Centre Strategic and Policy Studies, Brunei Economic Development Board, Department of Economic Planning and Development and some place of attraction in Brunei Darussalam.

Brigadier General Akinbobola Alexandra Ojajune and some senior officers from NDC were also had the opportunity to make a  courtesy call to the Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad. During the call, both sides acknowledged the cordial relations between Brunei Darussalam and Nigeria and also discussed potential areas to explore opportunities to enhance the military-to-military bilateral cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Nigeria as part of their programme.

The NDC delegation’s visits to the aforementioned government offices were productive and generated a holistic and multi-dimensional learning experience for the participants who were familiarized with the opportunities, challenges and prospects which Brunei Darussalam pursue for its politico-security and economic development.

The delegation was very pleased with the outcome of their study tour given the fruitful and productive discussions with officials from the Brunei government offices they visited. They expressed their utmost appreciation to the Defence Academy as hosting unit and coordinator for welcoming them in Brunei and assisting them throughout their study visit.
