TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 19 September 2025 - Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) commenced The Khatam Al-Qur'an in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 79th Birthday Celebration, for 1447 Hijrah at Surau Asy-Syuhada, Tanah Jambu.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Commander Haji Edy Jofren bin Pehin Datu Panglima Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, RBN, The Chief Instructor of DA RBAF. Also in attendance were Head of Departments, Senior Officers, Officers, personnel of DA RBAF as well Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 24.
The ceremony began with the collective recitation of the final verses of the Al-Quran, followed by Takhtim and Dzikir Marhaban followed by the distribution of 'bunga telur' to the participants of Khatam Al-Quran. The event concluded with prayers for the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam and the nation.
