
TANAH JAMBU, Monday, 20 April 2026 – Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, Commandant of the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), received an introductory call from Lieutenant Commander Hasegawa Takeshi, the first resident Japanese Defence Attaché to Brunei Darussalam, and a farewell call from Lieutenant Commander Wada Toshifumi, Security and Defence Affairs Officer at the Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam.
During the session, the Commandant of DA RBAF conveyed his best wishes to Lieutenant Commander Wada Toshifumi for continued success in his future endeavours and expressed appreciation for his contributions and meaningful engagement throughout his tenure in Brunei Darussalam.
The Commandant also welcomed Lieutenant Commander Hasegawa Takeshi on his appointment as the first resident Japanese Defence Attaché to Brunei Darussalam and expressed his hope for future collaboration and opportunities in military education and training between DA RBAF and the Japan Self-Defense Forces.
