TANAH JAMBU, Tuesday, 07 February 2023 – Colonel Pg Sharifuddin bin Pg Yusof, Commandant of Defence Academy (DA RBAF) received an introductory call from Colonel Thongvanh Sengvongchith, Defence Attaché of Lao People’s Democratic Republic accredited to Negara Brunei Darussalam.
During the session, Colonel Thongvanh expressed interest in the participation of the Lao People’s Armed Forces officers to attend courses conducted in DA RBAF. This paves a way for both armed forces to establish deeper and more meaningful cooperation as well as for the interest of defence diplomacy. The commandant also looks forward to interacting and engaging with the commandant of the Lao People’s Army Defence College at the upcoming Southeast Asia Conference of Commandants which will be held in Brunei Darussalam from 6 – 9 March 2023.
Colonel Thongvanh Sengvongchith received his accreditation as Non – Resident Defence Attaché of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to Brunei Darussalam on 17th September 2022 and is currently in the country for his introductory visits to senior defence officials in MINDEF and RBAF.
