TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 26 December 2019 – In conjunction with the lunar eclipse that took place this afternoon, the Partial Solar Eclipse Prayer was held in Surau Asy-Syuhadah. Among those present were, the Commandant of Defence Academy as the Guest of Honour, Colonel Haji Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Senior Officers, Officers, Officer Cadets of Intake 18 and Defence Academy Staff Personnel.
The occasion started with Mass Zuhur Prayer and afterward continue with the prayer of the Sunrise Eclipse before a sermon about the partial solar eclipse was delivered by the invited speaker. In the sermon, the speaker clarified that an eclipse is an event that shows the Majesty and Greatness of Allah Almighty occurring in the sun and moon as a sign or verification of His power as it happens day and night. He added that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) encouraged the Muslims to perform such virtuous things as supplicating, recollecting, imploring, presenting, giving contributions, and giving blessings during the obscuration.
