TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 30 June 2023 – Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) celebrated the joyous occasion of Hari Raya Aidiladha by hosting a Qurban ceremony this morning at the Ceremonial Hall Defence Academy, Tanah Jambu.
The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Commandant DA RBAF, Colonel Pengiran Sharifuddin bin Pengiran Haji Yusof, as the Guest of Honour. Among the attendees were Senior Officers, Officers, personnel, Officer Cadets from Officer Cadet School (OCS) Intake 22, and the Acting Head of Kg. Meragang, along with Asnaf recipients from Kampong Meragang.
The Korban Ceremony commenced with a solemn recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Al-Fatihah, special doa, Takbir, and Asmaul Husna led by 16791 Sergeant Haji Yusri bin Haji Md Yusof from the Religious Directorate RBAF (JAMA’AT). As part of this year’s ceremony, a total of 3 buffaloes were sacrificed. Subsequently, the GOH and the participating senior officers, representing the DA, distributed the sacrificial meat to 22 Asnaf recipients from Kampong Meragang. The event was then concluded with a feast and a closing doa.
Qurban is a cherished practice within the Muslim community, as it represent essential principles such as taqwa, charity, and unity. Through this profound act of worship, the members of the DA RBAF embody selflessness and reinforce their connection to Allah.
