
TASEK MERIMBUN, Thursday, 15 December 2022 – A total of 64 Officer Cadets from Intake 21 participated in the Commander’s Challenge held from 14 to 15 December 2022 at Tasek Merimbun, Tutong. The challenge witnessed the deployment of 8 sections of Officer Cadets and featured a multitude of different fitness and combat related events. Stretched along Kampong Benutan including the Empangan Air Jubli Emas in Ulu Tutong, the challenge is mission-focused and scenario-based with various role players given in order to enhance the training benefit.
Present as the Guest of Honour and presented the prize presentation was Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). Also in attendance were Colonel Pengiran Sharifuddin bin Pengiran Haji Yusof, the Commandant of the Defence Academy RBAF, Defence Academy Executive Committees and RBAF training units.
The Commander’s Challenge is an annual iconic event that takes place during the final term of the Officer Cadet School Defence Academy RBAF (OCS DA RBAF) Commissioning Course. The aim of the challenge is to assess the Officer Cadets on Leadership, Command and Management technical and tactical proficiency as well as their ability to work as a disciplined and cohesive team with physical and mental robustness.The winner of the challenge was awarded to Section 2 where they clocked the fastest timing of 11 hours 16 minutes. The Commander’s Challenge concluded with a group photo session.
