Bolkiah Garrison, Sunday, 30 June 2019
– Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, today graced the Grand Parade for the 58th RBAF Anniversary Celebration at the Mini Stadium in Bolkiah Garrison. 
 
Upon arrival at the parade ground, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was received by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof, Second Minister of Defence; and Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud,  Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. 
 
Accompanying His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; and His Royal Highness 920 Captain (U) Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
 
His Majesty then proceeded to the Dais for the Royal Salute and afterwards, inspected the parade contingents consisting of 1,058 RBAF personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF); Royal Brunei Navy (RBN); Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF); Training Institute RBAF (TI RBAF); the Special Forces Regiment (SFR); and Women Military Personnel led by 632 Lieutenant Colonel Amirul Adly bin Haji Ali as the Parade Commander. After the inspection, His Majesty delivered a Titah. 
 
Afterwards, a prayer to bless the event was read by the Head of RBAF Religious Department, Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, RBN. His Majesty then once again received the Royal Salute followed by a fly-past by RBAirF’s aircrafts. 
 
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam proceeded to witness the arena performance which showcased the Special Forces Regiment capability demonstrating direct vehicle ambush and interdiction. 
 
This was followed by the consent of His Majesty to award the honorary membership in the Special Forces Regiment to His Royal Highness 920 Captain (U) Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
 
His Majesty was then ushered to view the static exhibitions of the different units under the Ministry of Defence and RBAF. Static exhibition of Defence Academy RBAF was received by Yang Mulia Colonel Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, The Commandant of Defence Academy RBAF.
 
This year’s theme ‘Together in Accomplishing the National Vision’ underlines the continuous commitment of the RBAF, as the key security institution, in contributing to the nation’s progress and development by ensuring a safe and peaceful environment through the steady provision of defence and security.  
 
This event, traditionally held every 31st May, was brought to a later date out of respect for the holy month of Ramadhan.
