TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 03 June 2020 – Scott Woodard, Deputy Chief of Mission and also currently the Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the United States of America in Brunei Darussalam held a lecture on US Indo-Pacific Strategy to the 10th Command and Staff Course (CSC 10).
The lecture as titled above was delivered by Ms. Linnea Duvall through online video conferencing from Washington DC, USA. Ms. Duvall is an Indo-Pacific Strategy Coordinator and Security Team Lead in the Office of Regional and Security Policy, Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs (EAP). The lecture highlighted that the strategy emphasized on four elements that consist of economics, governance, security and human capital that empower partnerships, regional stability and prosperity.
Alongside the Deputy Chief of Mission, Commander Randall D. Jones, Chief, Office of Defense Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy in Brunei Darussalam was also present. Both Mr. Woodard and Commander Jones entertained the audience during a Q&A session.
The lecture ended with appreciation remarks by Lieutenant Commander Ade Roddiane bin Hj Mohd. Rosdi, one of the local participants of CSC 10 and subsequently followed by a course memento presentation to the Deputy Chief of Mission as token of appreciation, which was presented by Lieutenant Colonel Mohd Salehudin bin Dato Paduka Haji Puasa, Directing Staff, Command and Staff College.
Lecture sessions with foreign ambassadors or high commissioners provide an opportunity for the CSC participants to engage in enlightenment and insightful discussion while understanding various foreign policies.
