COMMANDANT DA RBAF VISIT TO DEFENCE ACADEMY OF THE UNITED KINGDOM, SHRIVENHAM


SHRIVENHAM, Thursday, 08 November 2022 – Commandant of the Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Colonel Pengiran Sharifuddin bin Pengiran Haji Yusof was invited to visit the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, Shrivenham as part of his working visit. The delegation was received by Major General Andrew Roe, Chief Executive and Commandant of Defence Academy of the United Kingdom.

The visit commenced with a brief organisational overview and the sharing of perspectives on the United Kingdom Professional Military Education (PME) including innovative approach, academic partnerships and delivery of courses adopted by the Defence Academy.

The Defence Academy of the United Kingdom delivers world class professional defence and security education to students from the Minister of Defence, wider government, United Kingdom industry and overseas.

The visit aimed not only to strengthen the existing friendly relationships but to extend the importance of defence cooperation, and the sharing of expertise and experience. Both sides also discussed for the upcoming inaugural Southeast Asian Conference of Commandants, which will be co-hosted between the DA RBAF and Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, Shrivenham, tentatively in March 2023 held in Brunei Darussalam. As well as meeting the expectations of the overall objectives, it bore a successful inclusive end for which, further relationship has started to be built.
