DA RBAF & INSPECTORATE UNIT RBAF CO-HOST THIRD CIVIL-MILITARY ONE FORUM (3RD CM1F)

LUMUT CAMP, Friday, 2 August 2024 – The Defence Academy, in collaboration with the Inspectorate Unit, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), successfully co-hosted the 3rd Civil-Military One Forum (3rd CM1F) at the Third Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force. The forum is a platform to address issues of mutual interest of all parties of the Ministry of Defence, featured the Defence Academy as the facilitator, while the Inspectorate Unit RBAF delivered the key presentation.

The forum’s highlight was a presentation titled “Occupational Health and Safety Management and Its Implementation in the Ministry of Defence,” delivered by officers from Inspectorate Unit RBAF. The presentation focused on the comprehensive policies, procedures, and practices designed to ensure the safety and well-being of military and civilian personnel. Key topics covered included hazard identification, risk assessment, and the implementation of control measures to prevent workplace incidents and injuries.

The event was graced by the presence of Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence, alongside Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Acting Commander of RBAF, and other senior military and civilian officials from the Ministry of Defence.

Following the forum, participants took part in a brisk walk from Masjid Zainab to Lumut Liang Recreational Park, symbolising the unity between civilian and military personnel. This session was joined by the Belait District Officer and local village leaders.

By facilitating this forum, the Defence Academy not only strengthened its commitment to fostering collaboration between military and civilian components but also enhanced its role as a key institution in driving discussions on critical issues within the Ministry of Defence. This experience further strengthens Defence Academy’s capacity to lead and support future initiatives that contribute to the safety, effectiveness, and overall operational readiness of the Ministry.
