TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 06 June 2025 - The Ministry of Defence held the Takbir Raya Aidiladha 1446 Hijrah / 2025 Masihi ceremony at Surau Asy-Syuhada, Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF). This event was conducted in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebrations taking place simultaneously at RBAF suraus nationwide.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Defence II. Also present were Yang Mulia Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF); Yang Mulia Brigadier General (Retired) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, members of the RBAF Executive Committee, officers and personnel of the Ministry of Defence.
The event commenced with a mass Fardhu Isyak prayer led by Yang Mulia Imam Pengiran Mohammad Khairuddin bin Pengiran Muhammad Yussof, Imam of Surau Asy-Syuhada. This was followed by Hari Raya Takbir and a Tazkirah titled "Gema Takbir" delivered by Yang Mulia Ustaz Mohammad Fahmi bin Haji Matnor, Religious Officer from the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA'AT). The event concluded with Doa 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan' and Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The Guest of Honour also took the opportunity to engage with international participants of Command and Staff Course 15/2025 and Officer Cadets from Intake 24. This informal interaction fostered meaningful connections and a shared sense of community, reflecting the spirit of unity and togetherness that Hari Raya Aidiladha represents. It also highlighted the role of defence diplomacy in strengthening mutual understanding, respect, and cooperation among future military leaders.
This annual event serves as a platform for the Ministry of Defence to enliven the spirit of Hari Raya Aidiladha by encouraging the recitation of Takbir and performing recommended acts of worship as a means of expressing gratitude for all the blessings of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala.
