TANAH JAMBU. Wednesday, 26 November 2025 - The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Defence Academy officially concluded the Command and Staff Course 15/2025 with a closing ceremony held on 26 November 2025 at the Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The ceremony marked the culmination of a year of academic rigour, leadership development, and international military cooperation, bringing together officers from Brunei and partner nations.
The year’s course was attended by officers from the Ministry of Defence, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), as well as 19 international military officers from 15 countries, namely Australia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Indonesia, The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Malaysia, the Sultanate of Oman, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of the Philippines, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Singapore, the Kingdom of Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
The Minister of Defence II delivered the keynote address and subsequently presented the certificates to all graduates, recognising their professionalism, commitment to continuous learning, and the responsibility they now carry as future leaders in safeguarding national and regional security. His address underscored the importance of strategic thinking and integrity in the profession of arms.
A series of awards were presented to honour outstanding achievements, including the Overall Excellence Award, Academic Excellence Award, and the RBAF Commendation Award, reflecting both academic distinction and exemplary military values demonstrated throughout the course.
This year’s course also marked a historic milestone with Major Hamad Algharair from Bahrain becoming the first Bahraini officer to complete the Command and Staff Course in Brunei, a moment that symbolises the strengthening of defence cooperation and enduring friendship between both armed forces.
