TANAH JAMBU, Wednesday, 25 February 2026 - In observance of the holy month of Ramadhan, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) held its first Zohor Religious Lecture as part of the Ihya Ramadhan 1447H programme at Surau Asy-Syuhada, DA RBAF.
In attendance was Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, Commandant of DA RBAF, along with members of the Executive Committee of DA RBAF, Officers, and personnel of DA RBAF. The event commenced with the congregational Fardhu Zohor prayer, followed by a religious lecture titled "Puasa Jalan Pintas Menuju Ketaqwaan" delivered by Warrant Officer 2 Haji Johary bin Haji Salleh from the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA'AT).
The tazkirah highlighted that fasting in the month of Ramadhan is not merely about abstaining from food and drink, but a spiritual discipline aimed at strengthening one’s piety towards Allah SWT. Through fasting, a person learns to control desires, guard their speech, and improve their character, while cultivating patience, sincerity, and empathy towards those in need. By increasing acts of worship throughout Ramadan, fasting becomes the best path to draw closer to Allah and attain true piety.
