ACTING COMMANDANT DEFENCE ACADEMY ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED FORCES HELD SESSIONS WITH THE OFFICER CADET SCHOOL INSTRUCTORS AND THE OFFICER CADETS OF INTAKE 20

TANAH JAMBU, DEFENCE ACADEMY, Friday, 06 August 2021 – The Acting Commandant of the Defence Academy RBAF, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin held two separate sessions with the Officer Cadet School (OCS) instructors and the Officer Cadets of Intake 20 at the OCS Lecture Theatre.  In attendance were the Deputy Chief Instructor, the OCS Commanding Officer, and the OCS Intake Commander.

The Acting Commandant began his first session with the OCS instructors, stating the session intended to provide advice and remind all instructors on these four key points; discipline and personality, spirituality, sexual harassment, and the RBAF's Core Values. The session was then followed by offering the OCS instructors the opportunity to share their views and raise any issues or challenges in their daily tasks and welfare.

The Acting Commandant reminded everyone to keep a high standard of discipline and refrain from engaging in any negative elements by maintaining good behaviour and upholding the RBAF's core values.  He then advised all levels of leadership to perform their duties and responsibilities carefully and diligently while maintaining discipline under existing rules and regulations.  Furthermore, the Acting Commandant urged the OCS instructors including officers across all levels to exhibit full commitment, dedication, and team effort to ensure there will be no breach or violation of any rules.  On the spiritual note, the Acting Commandant reminded everyone to embrace religion at the top of their daily lives to seek mercy and protection of Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala.

In the second session with the Officer Cadets of Intake 20, the Acting Commandant cautioned the Officers Cadets to refrain from committing any act of misconduct such as disobedience and sexual harassment as it could derail their careers. He further emphasised and expected all officer cadets to be more mindful and to display the required qualities of a good and highly disciplined military officer throughout the commissioning course.
