MALAYSIAN PEACEKEEPING CENTRE DELIVERS LECTURE TO CSC 9

TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 22 August 2019 – The 9th Command and Staff Course (CSC 9) received representatives from the Malaysian Peacekeeping Centre (MPC) to deliver lessons on “United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping Operations” at the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF). The three-day workshop began on 20 August 2019, and was conducted by the MPC Chief Instructor, Lieutenant Colonel Sukiman bin Mohamed Ghani, and two instructors Major Haizal bin Mohamed Ariffin, and Major Mohd Noor Izam bin Abd Rahim. They were warmly welcomed by the Commandant of DA RBAF, Colonel Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.

DEFENCE ACADEMY ORGANIZED QURBAN MEAT DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY

TANAH JAMBU, Defence Academy, Wednesday 14 August 2019 - Sacrifice of worship is a special circumcision for Muslims who are able to perform it on 10, 11, 12 or 13 Zulhijjah. This year, the Defence Academy donated 2 buffaloes, 1 cow and 2 goats in honor of Hari Raya Aidiladha. The event started off at 0715hr where officers, personnel and officer cadets of Intake 18 were divided into two groups; first group went to a cow farm at Jalan Bebatik Kulapis to witness 2 buffaloes and 1 cow to be slaughtered whereas the other group stayed at the MT Line of Defence Academy to commenced the slaughter of two goats. Upon the completion, the distribution of the meat was distributed in the afternoon after Asr’ Prayer at the Ceremonial Hall, attended by Colonel Haji Muhammad Haszaimi Bin Bol Hassan, Commandant of the Defence Academy as the guest of honor. Among the attendees were senior officers, personnel, participants where 6 of them are officer cadets of Intake 18 as well as the Head of Village and Penghulu of Mukim Mentiri, Tanah Jambu and Meragang as the recipients.

TAKBIR AIDILADHA ENLIVEN THE TRUE MEANING OF SACRIFICES

TANAH JAMBU, Defence Academy, Sunday 11 August 2019 - Today, Brunei Darussalam will celebrate the Hari Raya Aidiladha or commonly known as Hari Raya Korban or Haji among the Bruneians. Surau Asy-Syuhada of the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) held a mass Sunat Aidiladha Prayers in the morning. Prior to the event, the eve of the holy day was enlivened and resounded with melodius takbir, tahmid and tasbih at the Surau which were attended by Senior Officers, Officers and the Officer Cadets of Intake 18 of Officer Cadet School (OCS). The morning event began with the arrival of the Guest of Honor, the Chief Instructor of DA RBAF, Lieutenant Colonel Pengiran Mohammad Shamsul Reza bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Hj Tengah. Also present were Senior Officers, Officers and personnel of the Defence Academy. The event was further braced by Officer Cadets of Intake 18 of OCS. The event began with recital of takbir, followed by the mass Aidiladha Sunat Prayers. The event was then concluded with the Aidiladha Sermons which reminded the Muslims to respect and take care of their parents in order to value the sacrifices that they had given. It also reminded Muslims to take this opportunity to be involved with korban and donating the sacrificed livestock to the underprivileged people. The Sermons also helped Muslims to understand the true meaning of Sacrifices as committed by Prophet Ibrahim which signified a remarkable level of Iman and this form of submission should be followed by Muslims for the sake of Allah SWT. The event ended as the attendees shook hands and wished a blissful Aidiladha towards each other.
