TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 05 January 2023 – The Commandant of Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) had a session with officer cadets of intake 21 before they embark into the Officer Corp of RBAF as part of their mentoring and professional leadership development.
The session started with checking officer cadets understanding about leadership followed by a talk in which the commandant touched upon the expectations for young officers, leadership challenges of the first appointment and toxic leadership traits that officer cadets should avoid. The officer cadets were also reminded that the education and training provided during the training is a foundation to prepare the upcoming officers in handling complex tasks as they embark their careers as officers of the RBAF. The foundation building is also part of the wider Defence Academy strategy of implementing professional military education that would bring about more continuity in the educational development of the RBAF officers.
In his closing remarks, the Commandant further reminded officer cadets to always maintain high standards of discipline and not stop the learning journey. The talk concluded with a question-and-answer session and the recitation of Doa.
