ARMED FORCES SERGEANT MAJOR LEADERSHIP TALK WITH NCOS OF DA RBAF

TANAH JAMBU, Tuesday, 28 January 2025 – The Force Sergeant Major of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (AFSM RBAF), Warrant Officer 1 Rozain bin Hj Pungut, visited the Defence Academy of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF). During his visit, he conducted a Leadership Talk with the Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) at the Auditorium, DA RBAF.

The session began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by an introduction to AFSM’s distinguished 29-year career as a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO). Warrant Officer 1 Rozain shared insights into his professional journey, highlighting the pivotal experiences that shaped his leadership philosophy. During his talk, he underscored the significance of the RBAF core values as essential principles that all military personnel must uphold. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining high discipline to preserve the rigorous regimental standards within the RBAF.

A key focus of the AFSM’s address was the vital role of influence as a cornerstone of leadership within the RBAF. He emphasized the importance of fostering initiative, cultivating strong interpersonal connections, and building trust and cohesion among personnel. Additionally, he underscored the significance of leading by example and maintaining an unwavering commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement. He stressed that a leader’s dedication to expanding their knowledge directly enhances their ability to lead effectively.

At the end of the session, Warrant Officer 1 Rozain reminded personnel of the importance of maintaining a strong connection with Allah S.W.T. through prayer, emphasizing that it is a fundamental pillar in building a successful career not just within RBAF bu as well in life. This engagement offered invaluable insights to the NCOs, equipping them with essential leadership principles crucial for their future roles.
