
RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, 31 May 2026 – The Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) participated in the RBAF 65th Anniversary Capability Exhibition and Public Static Display, showcasing its role in professional military education and leadership development.
The Capability Exhibition featured a Sembah Kenal session involving officers commissioned locally and overseas, including Yang Amat Mulia Lieutenant (U) Pengiran Anak ‘Abdul Raqiib bin Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim, His Majesty’s first grandson to be commissioned from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, United Kingdom, in April 2026. The session also featured a graduate from Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth, United Kingdom, along with top award recipients from DA RBAF Officer Cadet School Intake 24, commissioned in January 2026.
DA RBAF also showcased the outcome of its strategic collaboration with Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) through the Faculty of Military Studies (FMS). The presentation, delivered by Dr Mahani binti Haji Hamdan, Dean of FMS, highlighted the Faculty’s achievements, future aspirations and academic programmes in support of RBAF Professional Military Education, including the Bachelor of Defence and Security Studies and Master of Defence and Security Studies.
Meanwhile, the Public Static Display showcased the Officer Cadet School, providing visitors with an insight into the journey of an Officer Cadet, from military training and leadership development to commissioning as officers in the Royal Brunei Land Force, Royal Brunei Navy and Royal Brunei Air Force.
The encouraging public response, particularly among students and youths, reflected the younger generation’s enthusiasm to serve the nation. Through both showcases, DA RBAF reaffirmed its commitment to developing competent, resilient and future-ready military leaders capable of meeting evolving defence and security challenges.
