Tanah Jambu, Friday, 29 May 2026 - Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) celebrated the joyous occasion of Hari Raya Aidiladha by hosting a Korban Ceremony this afternoon at the Ceremonial Hall, DA RBAF. It is a yearly religious activity for DA RBAF officers and personnel who wish to fulfill the Korban observance.
The ceremony was graced by the Commandant of DA RBAF, Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, as the Guest of Honour. Among the attendees were Senior Officers, Officers, personnel of DA RBAF, the Head of Kampong Meragang B, along with Asnaf recipients from Kampong Tanah Jambu and Kampong Meragang. The Korban Ceremony commenced with the recital of the Holy Quran followed by a special tazkirah titled, "Ibadah Korban: Syiar yang perlu dipertahankan" at Surau Asy-Syuhada. The event continued with a Mass Fardhu Asar prayer followed by the distribution of sacrificial meat to 21 Qurban participants at Ceremonial Hall, DA RBAF.
The Korban participants, which consisted of officers and personnel of DA RBAF as well Officer Cadets of Intake 25 along with their family members, distributed the sacrificial meat to 20 Asnaf recipients. The event then concluded with a refreshment and a closing doa.
The Korban is a cherished practice within the Muslim community, as it represents essential principles such as taqwa, charity, and unity. Through this profound act of worship, the members of the DA RBAF embody selflessness and reinforce their connection to Allah SWT.
