ACTING COMMANDANT DEFENCE ACADEMY ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED FORCES RECEIVES VIRTUAL COURTESY CALL FROM DEFENCE ATTACHÉ OF THE SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM

TANAH JAMBU, Wednesday, 29 September 2021 – The Acting Commandant, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, received a courtesy call made by the outgoing Defence Attaché of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Senior Colonel Nguyen Tien Son, and the incoming Defence Attaché of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Huan through a video conferencing platform.

During the call, the Acting Commandant congratulated Senior Colonel Nguyen Tien Son on completing his tenure in the Sultanate and spoke highly of his efforts and contributions in promoting Brunei-Vietnam defence relations. Senior Colonel Nguyen Tien Son recalled his pleasant working experiences in the past three and a half years in Brunei and expressed sincere thanks to the various Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces officials for the support and opportunities provided to interact with one another.

The Acting Commandant also welcomed and congratulated Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Huan on his appointment as the new Defence Attaché to Brunei Darussalam.

Before the call ended, both sides reaffirmed looking forward to work together on enhancing defence and military cooperation, in particular, between defence academies of the two countries despite the ongoing exceptional situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
