TANAH JAMBU, Tuesday, 06 January 2021, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) held Khatam Al-Quran ceremony this evening at Surau Asy-Syuhada' DA RBAF in conjunction with Intake 20 Sovereign's Parade according to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.
Present as the guest of honour was Col Pg Sharifuddin Bin Pg Hj Yusof, Commandant of DA RBAF. Also present during the ceremony was the Deputy Commandant of DA RBAF, senior officers, officers, instructors and staff of DA RBAF as well as the Officer Cadets of Intake 20.
The event is aimed to inculcate the passion of Al-Qur’an recitation while also developing a sense of community among the personnel involved through this particular religious event and to allow character development through the complete recitation of 30 juzu' of the Al-Quran. This practice is in line with the aspiration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to encourage education and literacy in Al-Quran.
The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony began after Maghrib prayers with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by Khatam Al-Quran recitation of Surah Ad-Dhuha, Takhtim, Do’a Khatam Al-Quran, Dikir Marhaban and Do’a Peliharakan Sultan which was led by officer cadets of Intake 20. The ceremony then concluded with a mass Isya' prayer and closing Do’a
