PENANJONG, Saturday, 30 September 2023 – The Officer Cadets from Intake 22 completed the commandant’s challenge for 2 days and 1 night which consists of a series of challenges at the 21 km distance in the vicinity of Penanjong Camp.
The winner of the Commandant’s Challenge 2023 was from section 3. The champion trophy was presented to the winning team by the guest of honour, Commandant Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Colonel Pengiran Sharifuddin bin Pengiran Haji Yusof.
The officer cadets were tested with 10 different missions which cover basic first aid, establishing communication, log carry, 4-tonne wheel carry, river crossing, IED detection and section battle. These missions require leadership skills to command and control the team, knowledge based on the lessons they have gained from Officer Cadet School (OCS) and strong teamwork to support each other. Before the challenge commences, the Commanding Officer of OCS, Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pengiran Haji Muhammad Yusri Bin Pengiran Haji Sharifuddin gave a motivational speech to boost the morale of officer cadets.
Overall, all the officer cadets have shown that they have the qualities of a leader, high perseverance and endurance, and high team spirit to complete their missions safely.
