MANGSALUT BEACH, Wednesday, 13 November 2024 - The Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) has joined forces with the Directorate of Development and Work Services and the Community Activities Coordinator for the 63rd RBAF Anniversary to support the Nationwide Coastal Cleanliness Campaign for Marine Debris, known as “Coastal Marvel” today.
The campaign was attended by Yang Mulia Colonel Pg Sharifuddin bin Pg Yusof, Commandant of the Defence Academy RBAF as guest of honour. Also present at the event were the Deputy Commandant, Officers and permanent staff of Defence Academy RBAF.
The event started with the launched of the Nationwide Coastal Cleanliness Campaign for Marine Debris by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II through the live feed and was followed by Tazkirah, safety brief and warming up session.
The objective of this collaborative effort was to raise awareness about the importance of environmental sustainability, particularly from an Islamic perspective. During this campaign, the Defence Academy RBAF has successfully collected 462 kilogrammes of trash along Pantai Mangsalut reflects a strong commitment to environmental protection, contributing significantly to the preservation of the coastal environment.
