DEFENCE ACADEMY ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED 14th ANNIVERSARY


TANAH JAMBU – Monday, 25 November 2024 – The Defence Academy of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) celebrated its 14th Anniversary with Doa Kesyukuran at Surau Asy-Syuhada followed by a Speech Delivery Ceremony at the Lecture Hall, Officer Cadet School. Present as the Guest of Honour was Colonel Pengiran Sharifuddin bin Pengiran Haji  Yusof, Commandant of DA RBAF.

The Doa Kesyukuran event began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah led by Imam Pengiran Muhammad Khairuddin bin Pengiran Haji Yusof, Imam of Surau Asy-Syuhada. The event continued with Surah Yassin and Tahlil in remembrance of DA RBAF Personnel who have passed.

In the afternoon, a Speech Delivery Ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Ustaz Nasir Saufi bin Hassan, DA RBAF Religious Teacher. The Commandant delivered a keynote speech highlighting the Academy's achievements over 14 years, key milestones in 2024, and future plans to strengthen its reputation as a leading military institution in the region.

As part of the celebrations, Excellence Awards were presented to two outstanding personnel: CPO Mohammad Hafiz Sulaimi bin Suhaimi, RBN, received the Outstanding Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Award, while LCpl Siti Nur Amirah binti A. Zaini was awarded the Outstanding Junior Non-Commissioned Officer Award.

The event featured the launch of six new books: the RBAF Leadership Handbook, PME Manual, OCS Instructor Handbook, DS Handbook, Sintesis 2020/2021 Volume 3, and the OHS Manual. These books offer guidance for leadership, education, and training, with Sintesis 2020/2021 highlighting top essays from leadership courses, and the OHS Manual promoting workplace safety.

The book launch was then followed by the screening of a commemorative video showcasing the journey and achievements of DA RBAF since its establishment.

The celebration continued with a Cake-Cutting Ceremony at the Ceremonial Hall, accompanied by the recitation of the Selawat. The session featured a group photo with the Commandant, Deputy Commandant, senior officers, officers and all personnel of DA RBAF and ended with Hi-Tea.
