TANAH JAMBU, Tuesday, 6 May 2025 – The Defence Academy of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) today received an official visit from the First Gentleman of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Prindon Sadriu. He was welcomed by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II. Also present to welcome the delegation was the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, and the Deputy Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, as well as the Commandant of the Defence Academy RBAF.
The visit commenced with a briefing session at the Ceremonial Hall, where Mr Sadriu was presented with an overview of the organisational structure and roles of the Ministry of Defence and the RBAF. This was followed by a presentation on the Defence White Paper 2021, and a briefing by DA RBAF on the Brunei Military Doctrine, highlighting the Academy’s role in advancing professional military education.
Mr Sadriu then toured the Academy's facilities, which included interaction sessions with course participants from the Command and Staff College and the Leadership and Management Centre. These engagements provided valuable opportunities for knowledge-sharing and further deepened understanding of Brunei’s approach to military education, leadership development, and capacity building.
The visit concluded with a group photograph and a light reception before Mr Sadriu and his delegation departed the DA RBAF. Mr Prindon Sadriu is a seasoned diplomat, having served in various senior appointments, including as Head of the Bilateral Relations Directorate, and Charge d’Affaires at the embassies of Kosovo in Panama and Skopje, North Macedonia. He is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Reserves Component of the Kosovo Security Forces (KSF), with combined military experience in both the KSF and the Royal Australian Armoured Corps.
The visit reflects the growing ties between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Kosovo. Mr Sadriu is in Brunei Darussalam as part of the State Visit of Her Excellency Dr Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, President of the Republic of Kosovo, who is visiting the country from 4 to 6 May 2025.
