THE CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE INAGURAL JUNIOR OFFICER DEVELOPMENT COURSE 01/2025

TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 30 May 2025 – A total of 45 Officers has successfully completed the inaugural Junior Officer Development Course (JODC 01/2025) at the Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) today. The course is attended by 18 officers from Royal Brunei Land Forces, 22 officers from Royal Brunei Navy and 06 officers from Royal Brunei Air Force.
 
Present as the Guest of Honour was Lieutenant Colonel Amirul Adly bin Haji Ali, Acting Commandant of DA RBAF. Also present were Senior Officers of DA RBAF, Officers as well guests representative from Services Unit. The ceremony featured a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Surah Al-Mu'minun by Lieutenant Junior Grade Mohammad Aiman Hafizunizam bin Mohammad Ali Dzulfikri, RBN, followed by remarks from the Guest of Honour highlighting the JODC course as a key step in strengthening officer development through structured learning, leadership training, and critical thinking. He also mentioned that graduates are now better prepared for future responsibilities, and the RBAF remains committed to supporting their continued growth and readiness for evolving operational challenges.
 
The Guest of Honour presented the JODC participants with their certificates of course completion and excellence awards. Lieutenant Junior Grade Nurharzelah binti Haji Yakub, RBN received the Best Student Award, while Best Research Paper Award was received by Lieutenant Junior Grade Nurul Majidah binti Zakaria, RBN.

The 6 weeks course is aimed to equip junior officers with the fundamental skills and understanding pertaining to leadership, military knowledge and current developments in the realms of international and regional affairs. The JODC course is designed to better prepare the junior officers for their future roles and responsibilities with a heightened sense of confidence and effectiveness.
