TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 02 February 2023 – Colonel Pg Sharifuddin bin Pg Yusof, Commandant of Defence Academy received a courtesy call from Captain (Navy) Riaz Akhoune, Non – Resident Defence Attaché of the Republic of France to Brunei Darussalam today. Also present during the call was His Excellency Bernard Regnauld-Fabre, the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Brunei Darussalam.
Captain (Navy) Riaz expressed his hopes of reestablishing relations with the RBAF especially after various restrictions due to the COVID Pandemic have been lifted. Both sides also explored possible avenues for further cooperation and collaboration on defence training matters. The Commandant also expressed his gratitude to both the French Ambassador and the new Non-Resident Defence Attache for their visit and wishes Captain (Navy) Riaz well for the rest of his tenure.
Captain (Navy) Riaz Akhoune received his accreditation as Non – Resident Defence Attaché of the Republic of France to Brunei Darussalam on 08th August 2022 and is currently in the country for his introductory visits to senior defence officials in MINDEF and RBAF.
