TANAH JAMBU, Sunday, 16 April 2023 – Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) organised an Iftar event with former Commandants of DA RBAF that took place at the Surau Asy-Syuhada, DA RBAF.
Present among the invited guests was Yang Mulia Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Colonel (Retired) Haji Abdul Hadi bin Haji Saim and Colonel (Retired) Saiful Akhmar bin Mohd Shariff. Also invited were former Academy Sergeant Majors that had served the former Commandants namely Warrant Officer 1 Rosleen bin Haji Tujoh, the current Armed Forces Sergeant Major of RBAF, Warrant Officer 1 Rozain bin Pungut as the current Regiment Sergeant Major of Royal Guards Regiment, Warrant Officer 1 (Retired) Azami bin Omar, the first ASM of DA RBAF.
Other guest included Senior Officers, Officers, Command & Staff Course participants and Officer Cadets of intake 22.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Yassin and Tahlil led by Sergeant Haji Mohd Yusri bin Haji Yusoff from RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT). The event continued with light refreshments for Iftar, mass Fardhu Maghrib prayers, dinner, and ended with the recitation of closing doa and a group photo session.
This annual event aims to provide opportunity for former Commandants and current DA RBAF officers to enhance closer relationship while commemorating Ramadhan, the holy month of reflection, sharing, and compassion.
