TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 09 September 2022 - In commemorating the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) 61st Anniversary, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) held a Tree Planting Ceremony at the Water Fountain Garden, Auditorium DA RBAF. This event is part of the RBAF and MINDEF initiative in assisting the government to achieve its National target for executing the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy known as “Green Protocol”. This event is a collaboration with Directorate of Development and Works Service (DDWS), Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) with the support of the Forestry Department as well as the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation.Present as the Guest of Honor was Colonel (Rtd) Norsuriati bte Haji Sharbini, Permanent Secretary of Policy, Finance and Administration, Mindef. Also present were the Commandant and Senior Officers of DA RBAF.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Ustaz Abdul Nasir Saufi bin Hasan, Religious teacher of DA RBAF then followed by a Tree Planting by the Guest of Honor and recitation of selawat. A total of 60 saplings of various tree species as well as ornamental flowering plants have been planted during the event. The event concluded with a closing doa followed by refreshments.
