Kampung Tanah Jambu, Friday, 19 March 2021 – The Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) held a farewell ceremony for the former Deputy Commandant, Lieutenant Colonel Hajah Suriyati binti Haji Junaidi, who has taken the appointment of the Head of RBAF Inspectorate Unit. The ceremony was held at the Ceremonial Hall.
The ceremony commenced with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by a farewell speech by WO2 Muhammad Alisahrin bin Haji Tahir who represented all personnel of DA RBAF. In his speech, he expressed the Defence Academy’s deepest appreciation to the former Deputy Commandant for her contributions in tenure in the Defence Academy and congratulated her for her new appointment. After the speech, a video was played reflecting some of her memorable moments in the Defence Academy.
The ceremony then continued with a farewell speech by the former Deputy Commandant. In her speech, she highlighted the achievements and progress of DA RBAF throughout her tour and acknowledged the hard work as well as dedication of all the Defence Academy personnel and civilian staff in performing their duties towards the excellence of the institution. She also thanked all of them for their support throughout her time in the Defence Academy. The former Deputy Commandant was also honoured to receive momentos from the officers and staff of DA RBAF.
Present at the ceremony were the Deputy Commandant, senior officers, officers, military personnel as well as civilian members of the Defence Academy. The event at the Ceremonial Hall ended with a refreshment and recitation of the Doa before proceeding to the Leadership and Management Centre for the signing of farewell parchment and a group photo session as a remembrance of where she began her tour in DA RBAF in 2011.
